Mike has played on street corners in the toughest neighborhoods of Baltimore and Washington D.C. He’s played in barns in Indiana and open fields in Pennsylvania, on the beach in South Carolina, in Utah bars, California coffeehouses, campuses, churches and community centers throughout the land, and wherever he goes-folks have a great time. Mike’s music is a natural extension of broad musical influences mixed with inspiration. He grew up listening to everything from Al Green to AC/DC, Louis Armstrong to Waylon Jennings and from the BeeGees to Otis Redding. As he grew as a musician, Mike realized what tied all of these varied sounds together in his love of them; great songs performed with talent and heart. This is his aim when writing and performing. He likewise loves to experience the audience not only enjoy his performances, but get in on them. Interactivity is a uniquely entertaining aspect of Mike Sharp’s solo act.

| Mike has a growing list of over 40 originals. He also performs two hundred+ covers (and tries to satisfy requests)Classic Rock:
The Allman Brothers Country: Johnny Cash Jazz, R&B, Reggae and Soul: Louis Armstrong Post-Modern and Eclectic: Alan Parsons Project ‘In terms of covers, I pick songs that I love and that I think I can do justice and perhaps more.’ Mike normally plays two to three sets of 12-15 songs per set. He can easily tailor the setlist to fill a spectrum of logistic or content needs. Mike is supremely flexible (meaning he can pare down to a single, short set or go for hours when the situation calls for it). He is of course most interested in playing my own tunes, but will incorporate covers to mix it up. |
